The Chicago Bears might need to give up more than two picks for Deebo Samuel.

If San Francisco does in fact have less leverage than the teams that they are trading with because of Samuel’s demands going public, that could lead to the team landing him not giving a first-round pick. That is the case in this Chicago Bears trade package for him.

The Chicago Bears have two second-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. They landed the Los Angeles Chargers’ second-round pick (which landed at pick 48) in the Khalik Mack deal. Mack is off to the west coast while the Bears have this extra second-rounder to dangle.

Of course, more picks are going to be needed. A 6th-round pick this year and a second-round pick in 2023 might be able to get this deal done as well. That would be a nice haul of selections for the San Francisco Giants who are a Super Bowl contender anyway.

Hitting on a lot of these draft picks would be able to help San Francisco stay good in the NFC West (which might be the best division in football) for a long time. The Bears wouldn’t become a good team by landing an elite wide receiver like that but they would be helping Justin Fields develop which is the most important thing right now.
