Round 5 – Pick 150 – Neil Farrell – DT

The Chicago Bears need to keep adding help on the defensive line in the draft.

The Chicago Bears are going to make that pick at 148 which will be their first pick of the fifth round. After that, the Carolina Panthers will make a selection at 149 and then the Bears will be right back on the clock again at 150. Nailing picks like this can be a big help to turning a bad football team around.

The Bears have a lot of needs as we have touched on. One of them is the defensive line area. They could use a defensive tackle really badly. Without Akiem Hicks or Eddie Goldman going forward, drafting someone to take their spot is very important. It is okay if the prospects are raw and need a year to develop their strengths.

Neil Farrell is someone for Poles to consider at 150. He is a defensive tackle out of Louisiana State University. That is a program that has developed a lot of great NFL players over the years and Farrell is hoping to be no different.

This defense is getting older by the year and not in a literal sense. The players that once dominated for them on this team are losing steam and a lot of them are no longer even there. The Bears need to continue getting younger so drafting defensive tackles like Farrell could help with that a lot.
