Dai’Jean Dixon could provide the Chicago Bears with high late-round value

One of the guys who is consistently projected in the sixth round or later — even undrafted at times — is Nicholls State wideout Dai’Jean Dixon. If you’re looking for a dark horse candidate to become a household name in this year’s class, this kid has a real shot.

Dixon has the same type of build as a Alshon Jeffery. He is 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds. He’s a big, strong wide receiver with average speed but an ability to go up and make the difficult catches. Just watching his film provides you with several “wow” moments. He’s a good football player, period.

The Nicholls State product does a good job of making contested catches and working through traffic to come up with grabs as well. He’s a physical guy who isn’t brought down easily. The potential for Dixon to be an excellent run-after-catch player in the NFL is certainly there. He plays with that competitive edge and toughness that Eberflus desires.

If the Bears don’t go with a true alpha type receiver early in the draft, but are able to secure Dixon later on, fans shouldn’t be terribly disappointed. Although he comes from a small school, Dixon plays big. He’s a talented kid who deserves a real shot to contribute as a pro.
