Wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr. could be a draft steal for the Chicago Bears

If you look merely at the physical attributes of Kevin Austin Jr., along with some basic measurable, he compares well to some of the better Round 2 and Round 3 options. However, he’s currently being projected to go on Day 3, between the fifth and seventh round.

The main reason he’ll drop? He only has 54 career catches. He hasn’t played a lot of college ball and will require additional development. But, the film he’s put out is pretty strong.

Austin stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 215 pounds. He ran a 4.43 coupled with a 39-inch vertical. He is a chiseled, strong receiver who can physically impose himself on the defensive backs in his way.

In an offense with Fields, who loves to throw deep, Austin would fit well. He’s a natural deep threat, being able to track the ball well. Though he needs some refinement in his route running and overall instincts, Austin’s ascension has been noticeable. He’s on a fast track to become a good NFL receiver.
