Cornerback Mario Goodrich could be a draft steal for the Chicago Bears

Another mid-round guy the Bears could target is Clemson cornerback Mario Goodrich. The 6-foot senior is coming into this year’s class as a guy who could go anywhere between rounds four and five, but has the potential to deliver third round talent.

One of the reasons Goodrich will fall is due to his lack of play strength. He’s a little lanky and not as strong as you’d like for a guy who will be going up against bigger, stronger NFL receivers on the outside.

Although he’s not the strongest, that doesn’t stop Goodrich from playing a physical, tough brand of football. That’s reason to like this kid, especially because he’s willing to help in run support as well.

As for the passing game, Goodrich has great length to break up passes. He is not the fastest guy on the field, as he ran a 4.52, so that’s another knock. But, the style he plays and the effort he puts in should be enough to give him a solid career, especially in a zone scheme.
