The Chicago Bears should target wide receiver Alec Pierce in the third round

It is almost a guarantee that the Bears will use one of their first three picks on a wide receiver, and a guy like Alec Pierce would be an excellent selection in the third round.

Cincinnati’s top pass catcher stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 208 pounds. He has that prototypical size but also offers a ton of strength and speed. For someone his size, Pierce being able to run a 4.41 at the Combine is quite the feat.

Pierce is one of those receivers who runs great routes and uses his football intelligence and body positioning to get open where his quarterback can beat get him the ball. For a quarterback like Fields, Pierce would be a huge security blanket. He would be the type who could allow Fields to get in a rhythm by making things that much easier on his quarterback.

Let’s not forget the fact that Fields loves to throw deep, too, and Pierce is a strong deep threat. He really does everything well, giving the Bears flexibility to line him up either outside or in the slot. If Pierce became a Bear, this would be a great value pick and pay dividends immediately.
