In the fourth round, Poles goes to the phones once more. For the last time, the Bears get a trade done on draft weekend. To kick off Round 4, the Bears move up by dealing with the Washington Commanders. Chicago sends Washington their picks in the fifth round at numbers 148 and 150. In exchange, the Bears get pick no. 113 and they use it to fill a huge need at cornerback.

The Bears take LSU cornerback Cordale Flott, who has been an often-mocked player to the Bears for a while now by fans and those who play around with draft simulators. Flott is a player who continued to improve during his time at LSU and is even still improving during the pre-draft process.

Flott brings prototypical size to the position at 6-foot-2, but came into the offseason weighing 170 pounds. He’s very thin for the position, but Flott then showed up to his Pro Day looking very strong, as if though he had added some muscle to that frame.

His length is one of his best attributes, but Flott is also a guy who is unafraid to make plays in the run, coming up to help out. With the way the Bears’ current roster looks, Flott should step in and start opposite Jaylon Johnson. This gives the Bears yet another starter in the draft, and some tremendous value as well.
