Chicago Bears trade a surprise player in this 2022 mock draft
By Ryan Heckman
This is where the Bears begin their quest to rebuild the interior of their line, especially after trading Cody Whitehair earlier. With pick number 91, the Bears go with Arizona State guard/center Dohnovan West.
Coming into the NFL, West is mostly projected as a center because of his intelligence at the position. He is very quick out of his stance and could fit best in a zone scheme, which Chicago will be running a lot of the time now.
The football smarts just ooze out of West, who adjusts his body and technique to the type of guy he’s facing. He offers great hip flexion, and also knows how to widen his stance against those more powerful rushers.
In West, the Bears now have four starters up front with Jenkins, Patrick, Lucas and himself. This gives the Bears and their fan base a whole lot more reason to stay calm and continue trusting Poles during this process. West is yet another young name who could be here for several years coming.
