Why should the Chicago Bears worry about Skyy Moore?

Lastly, we come to yet another smaller school prospect in Skyy Moore. Like Watson, Moore dominated college competition for the most part. He is a productive receiver who would work best from the slot. He plays with a high motor at all times, which is a great trait to have. He’s also a fine route runner and can create space for the quarterback to get him the ball.

But, there are plenty of things to worry about. The biggest worry is the fact that he doesn’t have that breakaway speed. He even lacks a little burst, too. He has relatively quick feet, but in terms of getting down the field in a hurry, Moore just doesn’t do that well.

He is dependable in terms of his hands and will work through traffic to make the catch, which is key for building the confidence in a young quarterback. But, he doesn’t necessarily look like a guy who can run an expanded route tree with excellence. Moore’s inability to create separation on intermediate routes come from having less-than-stellar cuts.

Moore is going to have to become a much better run-after-catch type as a pro, if he’s going to be cut out for the NFL. If he can fine tune his overall quickness, Moore should end up being a decent second or third option. But, he’s being mocked in the high second round, and he might not be worth that capital.
