The more this NFL offseason rages on, the more excited Chicago Bears fans should be for the 2022 NFL Draft.

The biggest reason fans are excited? Well, it’s not exactly an inspiring one. Fans are mostly anxious for the draft because of the fact that general manager Ryan Poles has not made many of the necessary moves in order to surround Justin Fields with enough talent.

The fan base is aware that Poles is attempting to be patient, and that he’s more focused on the 2023 offseason to be the team’s monumental change. It’s also comforting to hear Poles remain confident in his strategy. Still, the team has to fill some holes this year if they want Fields to develop at the best possible pace.

While Poles has not added as much talent in free agency as many had hoped, there is still a lot of time left and a good amount of free agents remaining. But, the real work is going to be done in the draft.

Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears could use some intriguing scenarios to trade back in the 2022 NFL Draft.

This year’s draft is an interesting one. The Bears do not own a first-round pick. But, thanks to the Khalil Mack trade, they do have a pair of picks in the second round.

This class is also a little weaker at key positions, which could make the second round one full of many trades. Fortunately for the Bears, this could work out well if they played their cards right.

Let’s say a certain team sees a player they really like falling in the second or third round. That’s the moment where Poles could get on the phone and truly take advantage. Any one of the following five trades could work out extremely well for the Bears, and potentially for the team in desperate need at a given position.
