The Chicago Bears should trade up for Jameson Williams in the 2022 NFL Draft

Going up a little higher, and probably the highest the Bears would trade up, they could try and swing a deal for Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams. Since the Philadelphia Eagles have already been dealing, maybe they’re up for another one to acquire future draft capital as they did recently with the New Orleans Saints.

The Bears would send Philadelphia their no. 39 and no. 71 picks in this year’s draft, plus a second rounder next year. In exchange, the Bears move up to pick no. 18 and also stay at six picks in this year’s draft by getting the Eagles’ selection at no. 83.

At no. 18, Williams comes to Chicago and gives Fields an absolutely electric playmaker. As one of the overall quickest receivers in the draft, Williams presents arguably the cream of the crop in terms of deep threats go. At just under 6-foot-2, Williams has ideal size and length and can get behind a defense in a hurry.

In 2021, he caught 11 touchdowns of 30-plus yards — most in FBS. Along with Mooney, Williams gives Fields a dangerous duo. He’s coming off an ACL tear, so getting him at pick 18 is a value, otherwise he very well could have gone in the top 15.
