5 available bargain free agents the Chicago Bears could still sign

The Chicago Bears would get a bargain if they signed free agent running back Sony Michel
The Bears have the running back position locked down between starter David Montgomery and second-year pro Khalil Herbert. Last year, the Bears were content with Damien Williams backing up Montgomery until an injury to the two of them forced Herbert into action. All the sixth-round pick do was burst onto the scene and establish himself as a steal in last year’s draft.
Now likely sharing some of the load, Herbert enters his second year as a fine compliment. Behind Montgomery and Herbert, though, the Bears have former Titans running back Darryngton Evans. If the Bears wanted to give Evans a little competition, they could bring in former first-round pick Sony Michel.
A former New England Patriot and reigning Super Bowl champion, Michel offered the Rams some much-needed relief after they lost Cam Akers for the season, plus Darrell Henderson dealt with injury last season as well.
Michel is just 27 years old and offers a prototypical style to the Bears. Running backs don’t last long in today’s NFL, but Michel would be an excellent signing to give the Bears a potential 3-headed monster in their back field.
