The Chicago Bears could trade Eddie Jackson to the Houston Texans

One team that is in desperate need of talent at just about every position is the Houston Texans. Houston hired former Bears head coach Lovie Smith to try and establish a culture going forward, and landing a former defensive star from his old stomping grounds could be one move that helps.

Getting a fresh start for Jackson would be beneficial, and doing so under the leadership of Smith might just get him back to the level he was once used to playing at.

The Bears were never going to get anything of tremendous value for Jackson, especially considering his contract. But, Chicago snags one more pick in the top four rounds by getting no. 108 overall from Houston.

In addition to Jackson, the Texans receive the Bears’ sixth-round selection this year. However, Houston also sends the Bears their seventh-round pick in 2023.

Sure, the Bears still only have six picks in this year’s draft, but they move up two rounds by dealing Jackson. With that pick at no. 108, the Bears could look to target a multitude of players. In recent mocks and rankings, some of the players available near pick 108 include Clemson cornerback Mario Goodrich, Chattanooga offensive lineman Cole Strange and LSU linebacker Damone Clark.

This could also be a round which the Bears look to add to their receiving corps and draft a guy like Khalil Shakir out of Boise State or Tyquan Thornton out of Baylor.
