One position the Bears have ignored up to this point is at cornerback, however later in the fourth round they trade up to get a potential starter in LSU’s Cordale Flott.

The Bears make their second offseason trade with the Los Angeles Chargers, dealing their selections at 150 and 196 in exchange for pick no. 123. With that pick, they bring Flott to Chicago.

Regardless of how they profile for the NFL, it is usually a safe bet to bring in an LSU defensive back. Historically, LSU provides a whole lot of NFL talent. In Flott, the Bears get a possible starter opposite Jaylon Johnson.

Flott may serve better as a slot cornerback, but should compete for playing time right away as a rookie. He stands six feet tall and weighs just 175 pounds. His lanky, long frame could afford to pack on a little more weight. But, his lack of size doesn’t prevent Flott from making plays.

In Flott, the Bears are getting a quick-twitch athlete with excellent recovery speed. He gives it all on every snap, which is something Eberflus will love to have. As long as Flott can put on just a little bit of muscle, he’ll have a nice pro career.
