3 players for Chicago Blackhawks to trade over the summer
Dylan Strome is really someone for the Chicago Blackhawks to consider trading.
The Chicago Blackhawks are top-heavy when it comes to forwards. One of them near the top in terms of production is Dylan Strome. He was not loved by Jeremy Colliton and his ice time/production reflected that. Since he was fired, he started to go off.
Strome is a restricted free agent after this season. His next contract is very interesting because of his streaky play over the last few years. There have been nights where he lives up to being the third overall pick in 2015 and there are nights where he looked like a bust.
The fact is that he is just a good player. His current contract was worth a cap hit of three million dollars per season which is fair but he probably deserves a slight upgrade. The Blackhawks could use a player like him but a lot of teams contending for the Cup might give up a lot for him.
Strome is better than Brandon Hagel and he fetched the Hawks two young NHL players and two first-round picks from the Tampa Bay Lightning. What could they get from a different contender for Strome? If it is anything even close to that return for Hagel, they should do it right away.
