5 perfect trade-back scenarios for Chicago Bears in 2022 NFL Draft
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears could trade back with the Kansas City Chiefs
The Trade
This might be the best overall value amongst these trade ideas, as the Bears will walk away with three picks in the second round. After the Tyreek Hill trade, it left the Chiefs with an abundance of picks in the next two drafts and the Bears take advantage.
The Picks
Round 2, Pick 50: S Jaquan Brisker, Penn State
This might be the steal of the draft, as one of the best defensive backs falls to the Bears at pick 50. Jaquan Brisker is the type of player and leader the Bears’ secondary needs. He’s a do-it-all safety who not only goes after the football but is unafraid to help in run support.
This is a guy who could play either free or strong safety, and quite frankly would overtake Eddie Jackson as the best safety on the team in a hurry. Maybe that would be good for Jackson; sort of push him in a way.
Round 2, Pick 62: WR Jalen Tolbert, South Alabama
At pick 48, the Bears could have already taken a guy like Pickens or Watson, which makes this look like a total luxury pick — and Justin Fields is thrilled. Having two wide receivers drafted so high, to pair with Darnell Mooney, would allow this offense to click and thrive together for the next few years.
Tolbert’s size is a lot like Pickens’ at 6-foot-3, and he offers the flexibility to be placed anywhere. Tolbert is a great deep threat, offering excellent speed. But, he also has the strength and physicality to be a problem in the slot, gaining yards after the catch.
Overall, any of these trade scenarios would be big victories for Poles and the Bears and the possibility of him moving back is very likely. Look for a similar situation to one of these come draft weekend.
