Chicago Bears get five top-100 players in this 2022 mock draft

Now, Matt Eberflus gets to have a little fun with a defensive pick. We can’t let the offense have all the fun, and if Eberflus wants to put together an effective 4-3 defense, he’ll still need another linebacker.
That’s where Oklahoma’s Brian Asamoah becomes a huge value at this point in the draft. As one of the most complete linebackers in the draft Asamoah falling to the Bears in the third round is an absolute dream.
Asamoah is a speedy linebacker who is a tad undersized at 6-feet, 226 pounds. But, he plays with incredible sideline-to-sideline speed as evidenced by his 4.56 at the Combine’s 40-yard dash this year. He’s built like a chiseled anatomy project, and plays with no regard whatsoever.
He’s been caught false-stepping at times, but Asamoah’s motor knows only one speed. He’s a guy who plays to the whistle and looks to make any play he possibly can, which is why a lot of his tackles in college were solo.
If there is one way to describe Asamoah as a linebacker, NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein nails it.
"“See-ball, get-ball linebacker with an itchy, twitchy trigger and explosive pursuit speed.”"
That sounds like an Eberflus player, no doubt. Paired with Roquan Smith and Nicholas Morrow, Asamoah gives the Bears three extremely quick linebackers who are also young enough to become the long-term, future trio at the position.
