The Chicago Bears could sign free agent cornerback Kyle Fuller

Cutting Kyle Fuller might have been one of the single dumbest moves former general manager Ryan Pace ever made while in Chicago. But, in more than one way, was it a bad move.

Not having a capable starter next to Jaylon Johnson last year ended up making this Bears secondary a laughable bunch. But, at the same time, Fuller leaving Chicago might have been the worst thing for him. For whatever reason, he fell off last year and ended up losing his starting job.

Had he stayed in Chicago, who is to say that Fuller’s play would have dropped off. Staying in the same scheme, with the same teammates, might just have been key to Fuller not losing a step.

Now, Fuller is coming off a pretty poor season so he would come cheap. Reuniting with the Bears could be one way to help him experience a resurgence after an embarrassing 2021 season. If the Bears brought him in, even to compete for a starting job, it wouldn’t be a bad move.
