The Chicago Bears could sign free agent defensive end Jadeveon Clowney

Speaking of former first-round picks, Jadeveon Clowney is a former number one overall pick. Now, the Browns are rumored to want Clowney back after clearing some cap space recently. But, re-signing Clowney isn’t a sure thing at this point.

Clowney is still just 29 years old, which is hard to believe. But, the Bears are in an interesting position. They have Robert Quinn, coming off a season that saw him set the franchise sack record. They also recently signed Al-Quadin Muhammad to replace Khalil Mack. However, Poles might not be done making moves just yet.

If he could get a nice haul for Quinn, then bringing in someone like Clowney on a 3-year deal would make a lot of sense. Poles has not wanted to sign anyone over the age of 30, it seems, so far. Clowney fits that mold and is still a fully capable starter in this league.

This may be a long shot, but again, Poles might not be done wheeling and dealing, to gain extra draft capital this year and next year. Should he look to move Quinn, bringing in Clowney becomes a possibility.
