The Chicago Bears could sign free agent linebacker Anthony Hitchens

Lastly, the Bears could go after former Kansas City Chiefs starting linebacker Anthony Hitchens. The veteran will be 30 years old on June, but would still give the Bears a couple of good years if he came to Chicago.

Hitchens has played multiple linebacker positions, but would probably slot into the middle in Chicago. The former Iowa Hawkeye has been one of the more underrated linebackers in the league over his career, never putting up gaudy numbers but always being a guy who gets the job done. He’s also a great leader and respected in the locker room.

He’s only topped the 100-tackle mark once in his career, tallying 135 in his first season with Kansas City after signing from Dallas. Because he’s not a household name, Hitchens would not cost an arm and a leg. He’s absolutely good enough to come in and snag a starting job right away. But, he’d come at a lower cost than some of these other guys.

Getting Hitchens in the fold could be an easy task for Poles, too, who has the connection coming from Kansas City. Poles has already signed one Chiefs free agent in receiver Byron Pringle, so maybe he goes after another one in Hitchens.
