5 free agent starters the Chicago Bears can still sign

The Chicago Bears could sign free agent offensive lineman Billy Turner
One of the biggest concerns, at least among fans, is still the offensive line. Some have wondered why Poles hasn’t gone out and signed some of the top names available, while others have taken it in stride, understanding that Poles is likely making a play for the 2023 offseason to be the big one.
But, they still need to put together a competent offensive line in front of Justin Fields. At the moment, Teven Jenkins, Lucas Patrick and Cody Whitehair are the only sure fire starters. Second-year pro Larry Borom might also be used as a starter, depending on how the rest of the offseason goes.
Packers free agent offensive lineman Billy Turner was cut loose by the team, and now could also follow Patrick to Chicago. At 30 years old, Turner would be more of a stopgap up front. But, he comes with plenty of experience at multiple positions. That would help the coaching staff, should the draft not necessarily fall their way.
Getting another veteran lineman who knows Patrick’s offensive ideas would be big, and would help the young guys like Jenkins and Borom come along quicker. Turner isn’t an All Pro by any means, but he’s good enough to slot in and start for now. He’d be an upgrade to someone like Alex Bars or Sam Mustipher, for sure.
