The Chicago Blackhawks need to stock up on draft picks for the next few years.

The Calgary Flames have one of their last real chances to win the Stanley Cup with this current core that they have put together. We don’t know now how long they have left with them and they haven’t had any significant playoff success during this era. That is why they might go all in this year.

The Blackhawks need more draft picks. They need to stockpile as many picks and prospects as they can so they can start building this organization back up from the ground. It should be a lot of fun to see when it is actually happening but the beginning stages might lead to a lot of losing at the NHL level.

Dominik Kubalik is a goal scorer that had a lot of success early in his career. However, things (including his ice time) have decreased for him in the last couple of seasons. He is still a good player that could provide good depth on a good team but the Hawks aren’t getting the most out of him anymore.

Calvin de Haan is a defenseman that plays the game the right way. A team like the Calgary Flames could really use someone like that to make sure that they have enough when the playoffs roll around.

They were rumored to be in on Mark Giordano before the Toronto Maple Leafs landed him but they couldn’t make it work with the Seattle Kraken expansion rules so de Haan could work. This could really be a deal that helps out both teams.
