Could the Chicago Bears land freshly-released wide receiver Julio Jones?

The last and least likely big name still available is a guy who was just released. Julio Jones spent only one year with the Tennessee Titans and it was a forgettable one, to say the least.

The 33-year-old veteran has been one of the very best wide receivers in football for quite some time now, but his body doesn’t look the same as it once did and he could be on a serious downward trend.

Jones played in just 10 games last year for the Titans and caught only one touchdown — the only time in his career he’s caught just one score.

Here’s the case for Julio, though.

Jones can’t go out like that. He can’t go out having put forth the type of season he did last year. If he signed a 1-year contract to prove he was still worth being a number one wide receiver, then his career could see one more decent contract in the offseason of 2023.

Will it happen? Probably not. In fact, the odds are slim to none based on the type of players Poles and Eberflus are looking for. However, a healthy Julio paired with a young Fields would help the quarterback’s development in a big way.
