What the Chicago Bears’ first 5 free agent signings bring to the table

What Equanimeous St. Brown brings to the Chicago Bears
If you thought Pringle was an overlooked free agent wide receiver, you may not even know who Equanimeous St. Brown is. The Bears obviously used a connection between new offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and the former Packers wideout as one of the bases of this signing.
St. Brown was a rarely-used weapon in Green Bay the past four years. He does, however, bring the measurable that Eberflus and Poles desire.
This guy is 6-foot-5 and ran a 4.48 in his 40-yard dash once upon a time. He’s an outside receiver who can be a down field threat if given the opportunity and brings size and speed to this wide receiver room.
The positive about St. Brown, right off the bat, is that he’ll understand the offense Getsy is going to run. He’ll be an asset in helping the other guys learn it more quickly. As for his role, St. Brown may not be more than a fourth or fifth option for the Bears. Over his pro career, St. Brown only has 37 receptions for 543 yards and one touchdown.
It remains to be seen just what kind of opportunity he’ll get in Chicago, but on his second team and looking to prove he can offer more, St. Brown might end up being a sneaky addition.
