Players the Chicago Bears could draft with Khalil Mack pick: G Kenyon Green, Texas A&M

Starting up front, the Bears could go with guard Kenyon Green out of Texas A&M, should he be on the board at the time. Green stands 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 324 pounds, presenting excellent size.

Green has a broad, thick frame and possesses great power within his base to drive opposing linemen backwards. When he latches on, Green is said to have a “bulldozing” style of blocking. He looks to finish.

Being a much better run blocker than he is in pass protection, Green excels when he simply needs to drive one man backwards and open running lanes. He could use a little work in pass protection, but it’s not necessarily a weakness. He is just much better in the run game.

With the Bears wanting to run a zone scheme and surely give their running backs plenty of work, Green would be a valuable asset. He’d start from Day 1 and make this run game a whole lot better.

In pass protection, Green just needs to work on his angles. If he can correct that aspect in pass protection, he’ll be just fine. All it takes is technique refinement, there.
