The Chicago Bears must draft guard Dylan Parham at no. 71

Starting in reverse order of the Bears’ top three picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Bears should take Memphis guard Dylan Parham in the third round. Whether or not the team signs Scherff, or another free agent guard, Parham would be great value for the Bears at no. 71 and he’d fit with what this offense is wanting to do.

At one point, Parham weighed in around 285 pounds, making him extremely light for an offensive lineman. At the Combine, however, he checked in at 311 pounds — which is a much more sufficient playing weight for his size at 6-foot-3.

Parham is an athletic guard who could potentially play multiple positions, but fits best where he’s projected to be on the interior for now. As a four-year starter, Parham comes with plenty of experience and is NFL-ready.

At the Combine, Parham ran an impressive 40-yard dash, clocking a 4.93. Any lineman who runs a sub-5.0 is putting teams on notice. That’s one heck of a time. Parham is a guy who can get up to the second level and find his next block while maintaining his balance, too.

He’d be a phenomenal pick in the third round and could be a mainstay for years.
