The Chicago Cubs could look at a variety of free agents, including international ones.

10. Seiya Suzuki

Seiya Suzuki is an international free agent that has plenty of baseball experience under his belt. He is 27 years old and finally trying to come over to North America so he can play Major League Baseball.

He even knew that he wanted to play here during the lockout which would have turned a lot of international players off for a year. It will be interesting to see which team he goes with but the Cubs could offer him a lot in terms of money and playing time.

9, Jorge Soler

The Chicago Cubs had good intentions when they traded Jorge Soler to the Kansas City Royals in exchange for Wade Davis. They needed a closer in a window that they believed had multiple championships in. They only won the one in 2016 before Davis’ arrival so this trade is probably a regret.

Since then, Soler became a great hitter that can put up monster numbers. He also went on to win another World Series with the Atlanta Braves in 2021. The Cubs would be wise to try and bring him back if he wanted to come.

8. Eddie Rosario

Speaking of the Atlanta Braves, Eddie Rosario is someone for them to consider as well. Like Soler, the Braves acquired him mid-season. Rosario started the 2021 campaign with the Cleveland Indians after spending the first six years of his career with the Minnesota Twins. He was the NLCS MVP for his efforts so you know he brings a lot to the table.

7. Nick Castellanos

The Chicago Cubs already brought in Nick Castellanos once before and it worked out tremendously for them. They missed the playoffs in a very disappointing fashion that year but it was anything but Castellanoss’ fault.

He was probably their best hitter in the second half of that season. They should have brought him back earlier but now is a time to right that ship. They could really use a powerful bat like that in the middle of their lineup right now.
