Some really good teams could go for the former Chicago Bears quarterback.

. Cleveland Browns. 5. team. 53. .

Trubisky is from Ohio and a former Mr. Football in the Buckeye state. There is a growing feeling in Cleveland that Trubisky should come home to push Baker Mayfield for the starting job.

That would be an interesting quarterback competition. You would have two quarterbacks highly drafted that did not live up to the expectations battling it out.

Although, the Browns are saying Baker is their starter. Also, Trubisky might avoid this homecoming as some of the other teams can probably give him a better shot at starting.

6. team. 15. . . . New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints no longer have Sean Payton as their head coach. Quarterback Jameis Winston might be gone too if he decides elsewhere.

The other reason Winston might leave town is that the Saints prefer to go with a quarterback not coming off a torn ACL.

If that is the case, the Saints could look to sign Trubisky. The Saints were rumored to be interested in signing Mitch last offseason.

7. team. 87. . . . Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers tried Teddy Bridgewater two seasons ago at quarterback and it failed. They then traded for Sam Darnold and that too did not work last season.

Panthers head coach Matt Rhule is desperate to save his job. He might turn to Trubisky for help as he does have a history of, at a minimum, winning a few football games.

While there are pros for Mitchell coming to Carolina, there are also cons in signing him.

No matter what, if Rhule wants to get the Panthers into the playoff, an upgrade at quarterback is needed. Trubisky could be that upgrade if the offense relies on running the ball.

. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 8. team. 48. .

The Buccaneers are expected to go with their internal options of Blaine Gabbert or Kyle Trask to replace Tom Brady. If the Bucs do go outside the team, Trubisky might be the quarterback Tampa goes with.

Bryon Leftwich and Bruce Arians are good quarterback coaches. Before Brady came to Tampa, Winston threw for 33 touchdowns in a season which would be a Chicago Bears season record. Winston also threw 30 interceptions which was the problem with him. Trubisky could fair better than Winston as Mitch only has 38 career interceptions.

It will certainly be interesting to see where the former Chicago Bears QB ends up during the 2022 NFL Free Agency.
