Former Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is one of the hottest free agents names in a quarterback-starved league.

Trubisky spent last season backing up Josh Allen as a member of the Buffalo Bills. He played great in a preseason game against the Bears. During the regular season, he completed just six passes in mop-up. Yet, the Chicago Bears’ former first-round pick is about to get paid big bucks.

That is right ladies and gentlemen, teams in desperate need of a quarterback are going to convince themselves Trubisky is worth $10 million or more.

Former Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky could make a lot of money.

Teams are going to overlook Trubisky’s inability to read defenses, throw an accurate deep ball, or an accurate pass in general for a few reasons.

  1. Teams think a season in Brian Daboll’s system in Buffalo will fix all the damage done to Trubisky by former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy. To be fair, part of Trubisky’s failure in Chicago was the fault in Nagy asking him to do things he was not particularly good at.
  2. He could have a Ryan Tannehill-like second act as a starter.
  3. Trubisky is a mobile quarterback with a good arm, even if he has accuracy issues.
  4. He went 29-21 as a starter with the Chicago Bears and never threw a pick-six.
  5. He has two career playoff starts. If it was not for Cody Parkey’s double-doink in 2018, he would have had at least one playoff win.
  6. This year’s NFL Draft class is not really strong for quarterbacks.

Trubisky is going to go from only getting backup job offers during the last offseason to his choice of starting jobs or at least competing for a starting quarterback job. There are eight teams connected to giving Trubisky that chance:
