George Pickens is one Chicago Bears receiver target to watch at the 2022 NFL Combine

George Pickens is one of the receivers who could benefit most from this year’s Combine. Pickens was dubbed as a huge breakout candidate for this past season, but suffered an ACL tear in the spring. Fortunately, he made it back fairly quick and was able to appear in four games this past year.

Pickens wasn’t extremely effective for Georgia last season, when he did come back, primarily because the team wanted to ease him back. His 6-foot-3 frame is ideal for an outside receiver and he’d come in opposite Mooney right away. At one point, Pickens was looked at as a potential first-round pick if he hadn’t gotten hurt last year.

What the Bears are hoping to see is a fully healthy Pickens who looks every bit of a first-round talent, but could still find him in the second or third round.

Pickens is a longer guy who has a ridiculous catch radius — something that would vibe well with a quarterback like Fields, who loves throwing it deep. This is a receiver who loves contorting his body in mid-air in order to make the big play. He’s got a knack for simply scoring touchdowns and always tries to find the end zone.

If Pickens has a strong Combine, the Bears should absolutely target him in the second or third rounds.
