The Chicago Cubs would need to send a haul to the Nationals for Juan Soto.

The Chicago Cubs would insert Juan Soto into the lineup with no issues. No team in the league would have trouble doing that. That is why you can expect every hypothetical trade here to be a haul for the Washington Nationals. No matter what, Soto will be the best player involved in the deal.

Brennan Davis is the team’s number one prospect. He is going to be a star in the league for a long time. He may just make his MLB debut in 2022 (if there is a season) which is incredibly exciting. The Nationals could really use a player like that if they have to get rid of Soto at some point.

Ed Howard and Miguel Amaya are both top Cubs prospects as well. Each of them believes that they are going to be Major Leaguers in the near future and nobody should be betting against them right now. Adding a good shortstop and catcher to the farm would be smart for any MLB franchise.

Nico Hoerner has had some ups and downs to start his MLB career but it is clear that he has the tools to be a really good player. It would sting to give up on him early but you do it in this deal if it is needed. It would take a while to replace the guys being sent away here but Soto is worth it for anyone.
