T.Y. Hilton

T.Y. Hilton has a connection to new Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus.

Despite wide receiver Allen Robinson’s time with the Chicago Bears appearing to come to a controversial end, there is no question that Robinson has had an impact on the wide receiver group for the Bears since he joined the team in 2018.

Outside of the 2021 season, Robinson was a leader within the Bears locker room. Whether it was Anthony Miller or more recently Darnell Mooney, Robinson was the veteran wide receiver that rookie wide receivers of the Bears turned to in order to adapt to the NFL lifestyle.

If Robinson is not going to be a part of the Bears’ wide receiver’s room next season, that leaves the team with a third-year receiver in Mooney and a second-year receiver in Dazz Newsome. There is no question that the Bears are going to need to add a veteran wide receiver to the mix for 2022.

For the Bears, that veteran wide receiver should be T.Y. Hilton. After spending the first 10 seasons of his career with the Indianapolis Colts, Hilton is set to become a free agent in March.

Hilton does have a connection with Bears’ head coach Matt Eberflus given that Eberflus was previously the Colts’ defensive coordinator. Hilton, despite being 32, would be an ideal target for the Bears as he could act as a veteran safety net for quarterback Justin Fields.
