Juju Smith-Schuster

At the age of 25, Juju Smith-Schuster is an ideal fit for the Chicago Bears and second-year quarterback Justin Fields.

The Chicago Bears need to take a page out of the Cincinnati Bengals’ playbook. Last offseason, the Bengals made the decision to surround second-year quarterback Joe Burrow with talent at the skill positions. The Bengals went out and drafted wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase and the pairing with Burrow proved to be one of the more lethal quarterback-wide receiver combinations in the league last season.

The Bears are limited on draft picks this offseason and it would seem unlikely that the team will be able to find a dynamic wide receiver in the draft. Therefore, the Bears are going to have to attack the wide receiver market in free agency.

If the Bears are looking for a long-term paring for quarterback Justin Fields, wide receive Juju Smith-Schuster may be the desired option. At the age of 25, Smith-Schuster is entering free agency and has proven that he can be a wide receiver that takes over games. While limited to only 5 games this past season, Smith-Schuster has emerged as one of the top-tier wide receivers in the league through his first five seasons as he has 3,855 career receiving yards and 26 touchdowns.

On the field, Smith-Schuster is not a risk as he has been relatively health for his career outside of the 2021 season. Off the field, Smith-Schuster has drawn critcism for his use of TikTok before and after games. If Smith-Schuster can show a dedication to his on-field performance and avoid social media, he may be the perfect target for the Bears.
