The Chicago Bears could trade Khalil Mack

Lastly, the Bears could do something that fans have been pondering for a little while now. If Poles really wanted to try and acquire more assets, then getting Khalil Mack off the books and netting a couple of valuable picks would be the way to do it.

Maybe one of the perfect teams to take Mack back in a trade is the Cincinnati Bengals. Regardless of what happens this weekend at the Super Bowl, they can step away from this season knowing they are one of the best teams in football, but adding an elite defensive player would make them even scarier.

This offseason, the Bengals should look to add a premier defensive player along with offensive linemen. That’s got to be the focus. Here, they get one of those in Mack.

In this trade, the Bears would get a first and fourth rounder back from the Bengals. Because they will have one of the final two picks in the draft this year, a first rounder isn’t nearly as valuable as it was a year ago for the Bengals, who took Ja’Marr Chase at no. 5 last spring.

A first and fourth-round pick for Mack seems fair at this stage, as he’s still one of the best defensive players in the game. But, just a few years ago Mack went for far more than that.

The Bears now have seven picks in the draft, including at least one in each of the first six rounds. This sets them up brilliantly for the remainder of the offseason, both in the draft and free agency.
