The 2022 NFL offseason is about to heat up following Super Bowl LVI, and as Chicago Bears fans have become accustomed to, it’s the part of the year that’s typically the most exciting.

This is where Bears fans are allowed to have the most hope, even when things didn’t go right the previous season. Many times, the offseason doesn’t go how fans had wanted. But, this year feels different.

The Bears have their franchise quarterback in place with Justin Fields. That’s something that they haven’t been able to firmly say for quite some time now. New general manager Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus have been busy building their staff, with much focus around Fields.

Now, Poles and Eberflus can start getting ready for free agency which kicks off in mid-March. It’s now only about a month away.

Along with free agency and the 2022 NFL Draft, Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears could make some moves via trade.

Not only do we have free agency to look forward to, but obviously draft season is right around the corner. However, the one part of the offseason that isn’t talked about as much is the opportunity for trades to happen.

With just five draft picks this year, the Bears could certainly try to obtain more capital. On the other hand, there could be an opportunity to land a significant veteran via trade.

For the most part, Poles should focus on padding his draft capital as much as he possibly can. There are a few trades which make sense for Poles to try and pull off, but the first one would actually see the Bears giving up additional capital.
