Trade Number 3: The Chicago Bulls execute a blockbuster with Atlanta

This last one is unlikely, but if the Hawks are making nearly everybody available, it’s worth a shot. This would be a deal in which the Bulls not only try to build the best healthy starting dive in basketball, but take a chance on another young player.

In this scenario, the Bulls would send Jones, Williams and White to Atlanta in addition to that first-round selection. But, they would get one more piece added into the deal on top of Collins.

If the Bulls are giving up two young, top-7 picks, then they should get another decent piece in return. Wing Kevin Huerter was the 19th pick out of Maryland back in 2018 and has been a steady piece in their rotation since then, starting 187 out of a possible 245 games.

Huerter would immediately become a huge asset off the Bulls bench for the remainder of the year as he’s a 37.7 percent shooter this season from beyond the arc. He’s also a decent facilitator when needed, averaging 3.2 assists per game for his career.

Beyond this season, the Bulls would have a decision to make as to whether they’d extend Huerter — and in giving up White and Williams, you’d think they would do their best to make that happen. As for this season, the Bulls would be set up to make quite a run after acquiring a star forward for that eye-popping starting five.
