Trade Number 2: The Chicago Bulls send Coby White to Atlanta

For a while now, there had been growing speculation as to whether the Bulls would decide to trade Coby White. Then, White started heating up and became a big part of the Bulls’ bench. Admittedly, a lot of fans went back on their original idea that Chicago should trade White.

He was flourishing. White looked like a guy the Bulls simply wouldn’t trade. He was playing that well. But then, something big happened. Rookie guard Ayo Dosunmu took over starting in the wake of Lonzo Ball’s injury, and the kid hasn’t looked back.

Dosunmu’s ascent has suddenly made White seem expendable. Ayo has not only proven he can score at a high efficiency, but become a facilitator. Dosunmu recently set a career-high with 14 assists in a win over the Pacers — matching the season-high amongst all rookies.

Trading White now seems possible, and even probable at this point. In addition to White, the Hawks would get Jones once again, as well as wing Troy Brown Jr. Those two would be included mostly to keep salaries weighed similarly.

Lastly, Atlanta gets that same protected first rounder.
