3 aggressive trade packages for Chicago Bulls to land John Collins
By Ryan Heckman
With the Chicago Bulls continuing to play well despite injuries, the time has finally come for the organization to make a crucial decision.
Will Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversley decide to be active before Thursday’s trade deadline?
Last year, the Bulls pulled off a huge deal to acquire Nikola Vucevic. They followed up that move with an offseason full of additions. The front office has been aggressive, and this week now presents another opportunity to act similarly.
Multiple reports believe the Atlanta Hawks will look to trade stud power forward John Collins before the deadline as the team could end up tearing it all down and rebuilding around Trae Young.
The Chicago Bulls should absolutely try to deal for John Collins prior to the 2022 NBA trade deadline.
Chicago is a first place team in the Eastern Conference, and has been for much of this season. Head coach Billy Donovan could be looking at the NBA Coach of the Year. The Bulls have two All Stars.
This is the year to make a move like acquiring Collins, which could set the Bulls up for long-term success and multiple title runs. He’s on a 5-year deal which is seeing him paid an average of $25 million annually — very doable for a budding player like Collins.
This is a player just two years removed from averaging 21.6 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. While the Hawks may simply not be jelling together, Collins’ potential still looks to be through the roof.
In order to get Collins, the Bulls would likely have to get somewhat aggressive. What would that look like? There are three particular trade scenarios which could see the Bulls land the 24-year-old forward.
