The Chicago Blackhawks might want draft picks in exchange for Alex DeBrincat.

The Chicago Blackhawks would be making a tremendously hard decision by trading Alex DeBricat this season. His value is through the roof and they could probably get a lot for him as he has the rest of this year and all of next year at a very reasonable price.

Any team that thinks they can compete for the Stanley Cup would want that guy. He scores goals in many different ways and can take advantage of great playmakers around him. As a result, a team that is playoff bound might give up picks for a player like that.

The Anaheim Ducks might be a year away from that level of play but they might also be ready now. With kids like Troy Terry, Trevor Zegras, Jamie Drysdale, and Sonny Milano leading the way, there is a very bright future there. The fact that DeBrincat would be there for a long time makes him even more appealing.

Again, we don’t know the direction of this team right now as every move that Stan Bowman made contradicted the last one. However, if they really wanted to get back into a competitive window, they might want to rebuild. Trading Alex DeBrincat might get them the most out of anyone that isn’t on an entry-level deal. It is something to think about.
