The New York Rangers might consider taking Alex DeBrincat from the Chicago Blackhawks.

The New York Rangers are a very interesting team. They have rebuilt their team from what it was in the 2010s and it took a minute. However, the things that usually make a rebuild successful are a little different than what makes the New York Rangers successful.

They made a lot of high draft picks like Kaapo Kakko and Alexis Lafreniere but those guys aren’t leading the way in their playoff chase. Older veterans like Artemi Panarin, Chris Kreider, and Mika Zibanejad are leading the way instead.

It makes you wonder if the young guys can take the torch when the time is right. As of now, the answer may be no. In that case, adding a young star like Alex DeBrincat might be a good idea for them. As mentioned before, he is going to need a pay raise after next year but at least he is young enough to be a good piece for a long time.

The Blackhawks would probably want a first-round draft pick and a top young player for DeBrincat. The Blackhawks don’t have a first as a result of the Seth Jones trade so getting one back would be really nice.

K’Andre Miller would be a great young defenseman added to the mix if the Hawks made a move like that. He hasn’t lit the league on fire yet as he only has 3 goals and 7 assists for 10 points in 46 games but the potential is there for him to explode on the scene. Coming to a team like the Chicago Blackhawks might really help him unlock that level.
