D. Chicago Blackhawks. Duncan Keith. 2. player. 94.

Duncan Keith will be the next Chicago Blackhawks player to have their number retired.

The Chicago Blackhawks were so lucky to land Duncan Keith when they did. For a few years in a row, he was the best defenseman in the National Hockey League. He won multiple Norris Trophies, three Stanley Cups, and a Conn Smythe Trophy to his name along with lots of other career accolades. He is a lock to have his number two retired by the team.

Keith has an argument for the best defenseman in the history of the Chicago Blackhawks. There are some fans that might not want to hear that but he accomplished everything there is to accomplish as a player at that position. A lot of winning came with Keith’s tenure.

He isn’t retired yet as Chicago traded him to the Edmonton Oilers to finish his career. It was good for both sides for him to go at this point of his NHL career but he will always be a Blackhawks legend. Keith has the rest of this year and all of next year left on his current contract.

At 38 years old, that is probably it for him. It won’t be long after that when his number hangs forever. It is going to be a great tribute to one of the greatest players that the NHL has ever seen in its long history.
