These 3 Khalil Mack trade scenarios are possible for Chicago Bears
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears could trade Khalil Mack to the New York Jets
The New York Jets appear content with hanging onto head coach Robert Saleh, who is known for being a defensive-minded guy. Saleh did his best to instill some toughness into his defense, but New York’s roster is going to take some time.
The Jets were in the bottom quarter of the NFL in sacks last season with just 33 as a team. They currently lack any superstar power, too, so adding Mack to the fold would certainly give them that.
The Jets have the luxury of boasting two top-10 picks with no. 4 overall and no. 10. If the Bears could somehow work one of those picks into the deal, it would be a huge win.
In this deal, the Bears would get that no. 10 overall selection, along with no. 69 and no. 144 from New York. The Bears would give up Mack and a future fourth-round pick.
The Jets get their star on defense, while the Bears could potentially snag a superstar in the first round of this year’s draft. Two potential studs the Bears could get at no. 10 include Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson or Iowa interior lineman Tyler Linderbaum.
If Chicago could turn Mack into a high first rounder, plus more, they should absolutely do it. In fact, any one of these deals would be well-worth giving up their best pass rusher. Would fans be upset? Maybe. But, in the end, it’s all about building a well-rounded roster around Justin Fields.
