1. Joe Schoen

Joe Schoen is someone to consider for the Chicago Bears general manager job.

General manager names are a lot less notable to most people than head coach names. Most coaches go from “under the radar’ to well known rather quickly. In terms of GMs, that is not the case. Well, Joe Schoen would make a great candidate for the Bears in this role.

Schoen currently acts as the assistant general manager for the Buffalo Bills. Brandon Beane is the GM there and has Schoen right there under him. Before Buffalo, he served for different amounts of time with the Carolina Panthers and Miami Dolphins. He has learned his trade well and will make a great GM one day.

The Bills, thanks to the help of a lot of people, are a very good football team. They are in the 2021-22 NFL playoffs thanks to an 11-6 season. They have a very good system that they run there and Josh Allen is an elite quarterback so things are going very well there.

Schoen knows what it is like to be around a very good team and could bring that experience to the Bears. He has seen the Bills bring in a lot of talent there and knows what a great locker room looks like. If the powers that be at Halas Hall believe that he can bring that pedigree to this team, they should really go for it.
