Chicago Bears 7-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft: First chance post-Ryan Pace
By Ryan Heckman
This is an exciting time to be a fan of the Chicago Bears, as the team is moving on to new, fresh faces at head coach and general manager.
Gone will be the days of Matt Nagy handcuffing Justin Fields’ true potential. That’s what the next couple of weeks are about — finding people who can come in and not only allow Fields to be himself, but help him flourish.
The Bears’ search for a new head coach and general manager will take priority for right now. But, right around the corner is free agency and the 2022 NFL Draft. This is a big offseason for Chicago — a crucial one.
Going into the draft this year, the Bears are set up for a somewhat difficult weekend. They only have five picks, and just two within the first four rounds.
In a post-Ryan Pace world, the Chicago Bears will need to be extra diligent with their 2022 NFL Draft picks.
Whomever takes over Pace’s spot as GM will have a difficult task ahead, preparing for the draft. With only five picks total, the thought of acquiring more draft capital is certainly on the table.
For now, we will operate under the assumption the Bears keep their five picks. Chicago has one pick each in the second and third rounds, respectively. Then, they will pick twice in the fifth round, with just one pick separating those selections. Finally, the Bears have a selection in the sixth round.
Keep in mind, with just a handful of picks, the Bears need to focus on their pain points. Using The Draft Network mock draft simulator, this is the very first mock draft we have come up with here and one that fills some major needs.
