2. Brian Daboll

Brian Daboll as the Chicago Bears head coach would certainly be interesting.

The Chicago Bears requested to interview Brian Daboll of the Buffalo Bills. He is currently serving as their offensive coordinator. A lot of people considered Leslie Frazier to be the coordinator that the Bears consider but they have now requested to interview both of them.

It may not come off as “under the radar” because they are interviewing him but not many expected that. They are also, according to Adam Schefter, the only team that has requested to interview him. They also noted that he expects others to reach out as well.

This is something that could turn out to be a good idea. The Bears have a history of being a defensive-minded team but their last few head coaches have been offensive guys. The best plan would be to hire the best head coach instead of trying for a specific area.

Each Bills coordinator has a different specialty but the Bears should be looking at them as head coaches. For Daboll, he does happen to be an offensive guy but that shouldn’t be the reason they hire him if they decide. He is a good candidate for the job as he might be able to really help Justin Fields take that next step.
