The Chicago Bears should interview Jim Harbaugh for their head coach opening

There might not be a better candidate out there, for the Bears, than current Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Harbaugh spent half of his 14-year NFL career in Chicago. He’s a former NFL quarterback. He knows the position and what it takes to succeed in this league as a pro. Harbaugh is not only familiar with Chicago, but he’s perfect for this position.

Having spent 21 years coaching now, Harbaugh has seen plenty of good quarterbacks under his leadership. Dating back to his debut in coaching, with the Oakland Raiders, he helped Rich Gannon to an MVP season while en route to a Super Bowl as his quarterbacks coach.

Harbaugh helped develop Andrew Luck while at Stanford and then was the man who allowed Colin Kaepernick to get his shot and flourish as one of the more dynamic rushing quarterbacks we’ve seen in the NFL.

At Michigan, he has compiled a record of 59-23. As head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, Harbaugh went 44-19-1 with a Super Bowl appearance and one heck of a defense — hello, Vic Fangio?
