Last second decision leads to huge Chicago Bears victory
The Chicago Bears are not a good football team. However, they are capable of having good moments. They had one of those on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks who are usually a Super Bowl contender. Unfortunately for them, they have had a bad year as well. It is interesting to watch after some of the rumors that surrounded Russell Wilson last spring.
The Bears weren’t looking so good for most of the football game. It was a snowy one early but Nick Foles was under center for the first time this season. It wasn’t the most ideal situation as they are a bad team hit with bad luck but they made it work in the end.
They scored a late touchdown to make it 24-23 Seahawks. Instead of kicking the extra point to tie it, they went for the two-point conversion and made the try. It resulted in a 25-24 miracle victory in a game they should not have won.
Now, Chicago’s record moves to 5-10. That is absolutely horrid but it should have been expected. It is a terrible roster with terrible coaching staff. It was also a brutally hard schedule from beginning to end. With all that in mind, it was good to see them go get a very fun road win.
The Chicago Bears won the Seattle game on a great final drive in the fourth quarter.
Tanking also does nothing for the Bears this year. Their first-round pick belongs to the New York Giants who allowed the Bears to move up and select Justin Fields. The worse the Bears do, the better the pick is for the Giants so it would be fine to see them win some games.
Now we can debate about the call to go for two. It was a good call because they made it. However, if they missed, Matt Nagy would be getting torched right now after a 24-23 loss. It is a tough decision to rip on because of the result but that was probably a bad idea.
If you tie the game with the extra point, you have a chance to win in overtime. With the two-point conversion try, it was a win or lose. Luckily, it was the former. Now, they have those same New York Giants to look for this upcoming weekend.
It is a chance to string together a few good games to end the season but we will be directing this final decision of the game for the week leading up. Nick Foles deserves credit for the way that he played in such tough circumstances. Hopefully, Justin Fields learned a thing or two.
