Patrick Kane could get a nice return from the Calgary Flames in the form of prospects.

The Chicago Blackhawks might want two good prospects and one good pick for Patrick Kane instead of the other way around. Maybe this wouldn’t be enough. It might even be too much to expect. A trade like this would be really complicated because of Kane’s status but it is possible if everyone was willing. The Flames make too much sense for this type of move.

Calgary was very much in on Jack Eichel before he was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights. That would have been an even better addition for them because he is a centerman and younger but that is over now. Kane, unlike Eichel, would bring full health right away and plenty of playoff experience.

That first-round pick would be a lock for any trade so that goes without saying. Yan Kuznetsov would be a great return as the second prospect in the trade. He was a second-round pick in the 2020 draft. He has the potential to be a good NHL player but he has a long way to go. He hasn’t been able to stick in the AHL yet but that will come with development.

In addition to returning Yan Kuznetsov, it would be nice to see the Hawks land someone like Jakob Pelletier. He was a first-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft by Calgary. He played for the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL before making his way to the Stockton Heat. He already has 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points in 23 games for the Heat which is very good. Bringing him in for Kane would be awesome.
