The Chicago Blackhawks could also land all NHL players for Patrick Kane.

If the New York Rangers made a trade to acquire Patrick Kane this season, chances are that their first-round pick would be in the late 20s. That means that it would be closer to second-round talent than lottery talent and it’s not close. As a result, the Hawks might look for multiple good NHL players in return if they made this hypothetical Kane trade.

The Blackhawks could use some extra defenseman to develop. K’Andre Miller is a great young one that they passed on in favor of Adam Boqvist in the 2018 NHL Draft. Now, he is a very solid player with a lot of room to grow. If he joined the Blackhawks groups of young players, you might see him excel.

They could also use some forward depth as well. Kaapo Kakko was taken one pick ahead of Kirby Dach in the 2019 NHL Draft. He has had his struggles in the NHL but a change of scenery would do him good. He is a sniper that can score when given good opportunities. In Chicago, he would certainly get more ice and probably play with better players during that ice-time.

Marc-Andre Fleury isn’t going to be there beyond this year. Hey, he might not even be there beyond the trade deadline. With that in mind, the Hawks should really consider Alexander Georgiev as a younger goalie to try and win with. Paired with Kevin Lankinen, they would make a solid duo.

There are no current rumors surrounding Patrick Kane other than the piece that suggested the Rangers should trade for him. It would be huge for the NHL to see Kane move on to a team like that as a fourth Cup would be a possibility. It will be fun to see how the rest of Kane’s career goes with or without the Blackhawks.
