Matt Nagy needs to be gone before the Bears season is over

It is sad that we are in this position as Chicago Bears fans again but it is what it is. They are an atrocious football team that has pretty much no chance to win unless they are playing one of the teams remarkably worse than them. There are a lot of people to blame for this but Matt Nagy has to take the most as he is the head coach with glaring issues on the field.

Let’s make one thing clear, this is about Matt as a coach. He is a tremendous person and an extremely nice man. The way that he deals with the media makes him seem like he thinks he is smarter than everyone but he is by no means a bad dude. When he is ultimately let go, he will find a job in football again one day. The Bears let him down in a lot of ways as well.

It just hasn’t worked out well with the Bears following their division-winning 2018 season. In weeks 17 and 18, NFL teams are now (new rule) allowed to talk with other coaches/coordinators around the league for job opportunities. In that period, the Bears should fire Matt Nagy and make him the first Bears coach ever to be fired midseason.

They brought him in to be an offensive guru and he has just not succeeded in that quest. Mitch Trubisky was never able to take the next step which was the first problem. Now, Justin Fields needs someone to help him avoid what Mitch went through. A new coach is needed in order to do that.

The Chicago Bears need to fire Matt Nagy before the regular season is over.

Their most recent loss to the Green Bay Packers dropped their record to 4-9. It is apparent in every game that the playcalling is bad and they don’t scheme well. That is mostly Nagy’s fault and it has been for a long time.

Of course, Nagy is not the only person to blame for the bad season that they just had. Ryan Pace never made the decision to fire him earlier and he has just failed to build a football team with enough good players. There have been some good moves made but the bad moves will outweigh the good ones.

If the Bears don’t fire him before the regular season ends, it won’t be the end of the world but it would be nice to see them get a jump start on finding the new coach. There are going to be a few other teams looking for a new person for that job as well so it is up to the organization to get going on this. Hopefully, Pace isn’t the guy looking for a new coach either. You don’t get three head coaches as a GM. You just don’t.
